According to Mayo Clinic general health specialist
Kenneth Berge, M.D. ,the amount of sleep you need depends on many factors, especially your age. Newborns sleep between 16 and 18 hours a day and preschool children should sleep between 10 and 12 hours. Older children and teens need at least nine hours to be well rested. For most adults, seven to eight hours a night appears to the best amount of sleep. However, for some people, "enough sleep" may be as few as five hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep.
I work at night (graveyard/night shift). And sometimes I feel sleepy at my work that I drink energy drinks like Rockstar Juiced (pomegranate), Starbucks double-shot (mocha) and Monster Mean Bean (mocha). Actually, this drinks helps me awake all night but after getting home. I notice my head starting to spin. I think thats the side effect after having the energy drink. I feel when I got home after my night shift I just want to lie down and sleep. But I can't do that because I still have to make some breakfast for my 5-year old because at 8am she's going to her school. She's in Kindergarten right now and enjoying it. My other daughter wants to go to the same school as her big sister but she can't go to Pre-school yet because the required age is 4-year-old, she's only 3 1/2. My other daughter is attending an activity class where she can socialize and play with other kids. It's an 1 hour per day activity with other kids (2 days a week). Mommies are required to be with them at the class. So, I'm there guiding her and telling her that she must be friendly with other kids.
Back to my topic, I think I only sleep 3 hours when I have work days. When it's my day-off I have like 10 hours or 8 hours sleep. Being a parent is a lot of work but never regret a single day I have my daughters because they are my joy and give me strenght everytime I see them.
You, how many hours do you sleep? Do you think its enough?
